FPCCI, plants trees under Green and Clean Pakistan Campaign

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar attended the flag hoisting ceremony at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations, planted trees under the Green and Clean Pakistan campaign and celebrated.  The Independence Cake was also cut. FPCCI Senior Vice President Khawaja Shahzeb Akram, Regional Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem Bhilar, Former President Mian Anjum Nisar, Coordinator Muhammad Ali Mian, Lahore Chamber Vice President Tahir Manzoor, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh.  A large number of business community including Chaudhry Zafar attended the function. Addressing the business community on the occasion, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that he congratulated all the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day.  The business community, as well as the government, has a role to play.  No country in the world can develop without a business community.  The biggest challenge for Pakistan was to get GSP Plus status.  I did my best and got GSP Plus status for Pakistan. There was a lot of danger in renewing the status of GSP Plus in 2020. With a lot of effort, I renewed the GSP Plus status for two years.  Now the business community has to work hard to renew in 2022, the challenges are very serious.  He further said that in order to renew the GSP Plus status, the government as well as the business community has to play its role. If the GSP Plus status is gone, we will suffer a lot.  And the business community has a role to play.  Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar further said that the plot for FPCCI Regional Office Lahore would be identified next week in collaboration with the concerned stakeholders.
On the occasion, FPCCI Senior Vice President Khawaja Shahzeb Akram, Regional Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem Bhilar, former President Mian Anjum Nisar and Coordinator Muhammad Ali Mian congratulated all Pakistanis on the occasion of Independence Day and said that August 14 was the day of our forefathers.  Reminds of sacrifices and inspires a new nation.  We are confident that our enthusiasm will pave the way for political, economic and social stability for us in the days to come.  He further said that August 14 is a shining chapter in the history of Pakistan. Today, Pakistan’s business community pledges that we will work day and night for the development of the country and not only make the people of Pakistan a great nation.  He appealed to the business community and all Pakistanis to plant as many trees as possible under the Green and Clean Pakistan campaign.
