From an ‘outsider with no connections in Bollywood’ to a ‘global star’
India, 7th July: Former Miss World, and actress, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is not only well-known in India but has gained global recognition with her role in “Quantico.”
According to Baaghi TV, the actress celebrated 20 years of her acting career on Saturday. She shared a video on her journey from an ‘outsider with no connections in Bollywood’ to a ‘global star’.
Priyanka Chopra claims to be the one actress that rose from having no Bollywood connections to a global star. Relating to the latest issue of Nepotism in Bollywood, Chopra is one such example who has made a name and place in Bollywood without any relatives in Bollywood and neither any approach.
Yesterday the ‘Quantico’ actress shared a 7-minutes long video on her Twitter account, featuring her 20-years in the acting career. The video shows clips from her movies, interviews and talk shows, her Miss India and Miss World days, receiving awards and accolades, working for Unicef as an ambassador, and also her marriage with Nick Jonas. She has thanked the Ozzy Production house for making such a memorable video for her.

According to Hindustan Times, Priyanka’s achievements as the only South Asian winner of the People Choice Awards, a Padma Shri recipient, and a National Award winner are highlighted in the video. She is called a ‘self-made superstar’ and her features in the Forbes and Time magazine are also shown. A clip shows her receiving her Best Actress Filmfare Award for Fashion. In her speech, she says “I think this is the first time my dad won’t mind that I am bringing home a girl tonight.” Her father Dr. Ashok Chopra and mother Dr. Madhu Chopra crack up in the audience.
Priyanka Chopra’s acting career became hit in 2002 from the movie ‘Andaaz’ opposite Akshay Kumar. She then worked in many hit Hollywood movies, such as Mujhse Shadi Karogi, Don 2, Barfi, Mary Kom, Bajirao Mastani, and many more.
Her Hollywood career began with the movie ‘Baywatch’ in 2017 as a supporting actress. Her Hollywood series ‘Quantico’ from 2015 to 2018 instantly gave her fame abroad and she is considered among the few Indian actors who made a successful transition to the West.
