Genocide in Palestine

The Israel-Palestinian conflict is one of the world’s largest running and most controversial conflicts. The Ottoman Empire was defeated in the first world war and the British took control over Palestine and the land was inhabited by a Jewish minority and Arab majority. Furthermore, tensions between the two peoples grew when the international community gave Britain the task of establishing a “national home” in Palestine for the Jewish people.

However, British rulers failed to establish peace between the Muslims and Jews and thus declared the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. As a consequence, Palestine refused to occupy a state for Israel and war started in which hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have suffered eviction and the war led to over 70,0000 Palestinians became refugees. Before this, two wars had been fought in 1948 and 1967 and the consequences were only demolition and eviction of Palestinians.

Sadly, during the month of Ramadan Israel attempted illegal assault on Muslims and there is no denying the fact that Al Aqsa has great importance for Muslims as it is the third holiest site in Islam. It is disheartening to mention that Israel demolished the Al Aqsa Mosque and that Muslims were offering prayer, as they fired on worshippers Israel Policemen entered the sacred precincts of leading to a worsening situation and many of the over 200 injured Palestinians need to be hospitalized because of the injuries they sustained at the hand of Israeli police who used rubber-coated metal bullets and stun grenades.

According to Gaza’s health ministry said that “at least 122 Palestinian including 31 children have been killed and more than 900 wounded in the enclave since the latest round of violence began. Furthermore, Israel perpetrated illegal attempts over Palestinians such as the construction or expansion of settlements on Palestinians, territory as well as confiscation of lands, and displacement of Palestinians. It manifests a violation of international law undermines the achievement of the two-state solution and represents a threat to the pillars of security and stability in the region.

Hence, the European Union called upon the Israeli authorities to “cease these activities and provide adequate permits for legal construction and development of Palestinian communities”. Moreover, Pakistan and including world powers(U.S, Russia, EU, and UN) expressed deep concern over violence in Jerusalem. Israel has no authority to occupy Palestinian territory. It is time to abandon atrocities over Palestinians rather than exacerbating the situation.
