Of course Imran is partially to blame for this.

Admittedly he was over zealous, overly ambitious and fairly simplistic in his pre election claims and rhetoric.

Sadly he was unaware of the extent and the nature of the deep rot. He should have been. Perhaps fully. Perhaps partially. But should have been better prepared.

Clearly he should have had a better team and much better plans in place. The economic decision inertia in the first 6 months cost us dearly!

Then of course his own personal inexperience in government and management further aggravated the situation which showed itself in poor decisions and his inability to put together a solid team in the Cabinet, despite really good PTI people currently in the assembly.

And his inability to convince his supporters on his choices of people like Buzdar, Mahmood, Vawda, Azam Swati and several others.

And clearly the absence of solid inner core team of 4 or 5 objective advisers and a super Chief of Staff, like a JKT to plug this competence and inexperience gap greatly contributed to many of his missteps and incorrect decisions.

But at least, let’s be clear on one issue.

Nawaz, Zardari, Maryam, Billo, Shahbaz, Hamza etc and their hawaris like Asfandyar, Achakzai, Fazlu, Yousaf Raza Gilani etc are corrupt crooks and criminals. They do not deserve even the tiniest token of respect. These guys are not politicians they are kleptocrats. They do represent us. They represent the elite capture of Pakistan.

On the contrary, despite all his inconsistencies, his lack of experience his missteps, Imran still deserves all the support this nation can provide, for being brave enough to take them on, for jumping into the arena, for getting his nose bloodied as it was today in the Senate Hafiz Sheikh loss.
