Girls’ schools opened in Herat province: Afghanistan

Herat, Afghanistan’s third-largest city after the Taliban took control, is returning to normalcy as girls return to school.

A few days after the Taliban took over, girls’ educational activities began in Herat.

Foreign news agency AFP has released some pictures in this regard in which female students can be seen sitting in the classroom dressed in traditional school uniforms.

It seems as if these girls are completely oblivious to the turmoil of the last two weeks that has engulfed their country.

Many feared that women’s education would be banned after the Taliban government took office, when in fact the opposite happened.

“We want our country to develop like other countries. We hope the Taliban will maintain security. We don’t want war, we want peace in our country,” said a student at a school in Herat.
