Lahore, 9th June: The Gotki train accident was not a minor one, Federal Minister of Railways makes shocking revelations.

According to Baaghi TV, Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati has said that the Daharki train accident was not a minor one.

Azam Swati said that the rescue operation has been completed at the site of the accident. Army helicopters were available to transport the injured to the hospital after the incident.

The minister revealed that a total of 63 people were killed and 20 are undergoing treatment and 3 others are in a serious condition. Rs 1.5 million will be given to the families of the deceased.

He added that the Railway officials are working on the rehabilitation of the track. He also revealed that no expenditure has been incurred on the railways since 2014.

Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati further said that the railway tracks have only been repaired throughout these years. The speed of the train has been fixed as it is a dangerous track.

He also said that 30 to 40 bogies of Millat Express were old and some coaches are 50 years old. There was a problem with the eight-mile track.

Azam Swati said that we have met the Chinese authorities on ML-1. We have to improve the railway system in any case. We have to upgrade the railway track and there is no way.

It is to be noted that there a horrible train accident took place on Tuesday at Gotki, Sindh, in which more than 60 people have been killed.
Emergency was declared after the accident after which Pakistan Army, Rangers and other agencies reached the spot for rescue and relief. The injured were shifted to hospitals by helicopter for medical treatment.
