Government Committed to Exploit Full Potential of Karachi

Islamabad, August 19 (Online Int’l): Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has stated that the government is committed to exploit the full potential of Karachi by sorting out all the issues of the mega city.

Talking to the media along with the Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi and Minister for Information Technology and Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said the country’s economic development is linked with Karachi as it generates most of the revenue of the country. The Minister said the federation and the provincial government of Sindh have reached a consensus for the development of Sindh including Karachi and will move in harmony for the prosperity of the people.

Asad Umar said all the issues of Karachi including water, solid waste disposal, encroachments and road infrastructure will be resolved at the earliest. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Amin Ul Haque said a committee has been set up regarding the developmental projects of Karachi, and it will act as a bridge between the federation and the province. Syed Ali Haider Zaidi said the development of Karachi is imperative for strengthening the country’s economy.
