Government issues orders to close markets from today

Lahore, 27th July 2020: The Punjab government has decided to close the markets from tonight to August 5 to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.

A meeting of the Anti-Corona Cabinet Committee chaired by Law Minister Raja Basharat was held at the Chief Minister’s House in which Mian Aslam Iqbal and other ministers participated. The decision to close the markets was made to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The decision will take effect from 12 noon tonight.

Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan has said that there will be severe lockdown in the markets till next Wednesday. The decision will be implemented from tonight and SOPs during Eid-ul-Fitr will also be implemented.

It may be noted that the number of confirmed cases of Corona in Pakistan has reached 274,289, the deadly virus has claimed the lives of 20 more people, bringing the death toll to 5,842.
