Govt allocates 50% jobs quota for local residents in federal departments

Islamabad September 04 (Online): The federal government has fixed 50 percent jobs quota at federal level departments for the residents of Islamabad, states an official notification issued by Establishment Division on Friday.

According to the notification, the vacancies in such posts in basic pay scales 6 to 15 and equivalent which serve only the region of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) shall not, at any time by initial appointment, be filed less than 50 percent of persons domiciled in the ICT.

The implementation of the notification will be made under Civil Servant Rules 1973 after the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The decision will be applicable for jobs in federal level ministries, divisions, authorities, corporations and departments.
