Govt seeks details of Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports

Lahore, 24th March: The government of Pakistan has asked for the details of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s medical treatment.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, the Ministry of Interior seeks details of PML-N’ supreme leader Nawaz Sharif’s medical treatment in the United Kingdom.

As per the reports from Geo News, a letter by the interior ministry has been written to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to get details of the following:

(a) Current diagnosis by the medical doctors

(b) Name and address of doctors under whom you are receiving medical treatment

(c) Copies of all the medical reports including tests undertaken in the UK with results of the tests

(d) Details of treatment (if any) received in the UK hospitals

(e) Details of ongoing treatment (if any)

(f) Details of payments made for medical treatment in the UK

(g) Dates of visits and consultations made with doctors in the UK

The letter requires Nawaz Sharif to sign an attached consent form for the release of medical information to the Pakistan High Commission in London.

The letter reminded all concerned parties that the former premier had agreed to provide medical information to the government, stated, “The high commission who will then contact the medical team for collection of medical information.”

The ministry’s move has come after the earlier verdict by Lahore High Court on November 16, 2019, and Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif’s oath before the court.

As per earlier reports of Baaghi TV, the LHC had allowed the government to remove Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) for a four-week time period after which the PML-N supremo left for London.
