Govt taking steps for promotion of sports activities across KPK: CM

PESHAWAR, JUNE 30 (APP): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has said  the government is taking solid steps for promotion of sports activities across the province.

Presiding over a meeting of Sports Department in Peshawar, he said the government is committed to hold some Pakistan Super League matches in Peshawar to entertain the cricket fans.

The Chief Minister directed for early completion of construction work at Arbab Niaz Stadium Peshawar on priority basis.

As we know the Pakistan cricket team reached Manchester on a special flight to play a long series against England.Those arriving in Manchester include 20 squad players and 11 team officials. Keep in mind that the Green Shirts will play three Tests and three T20 matches during the tour of England.

The national team left Lahore for Manchester by a special plane at 10 am today.Bowling coach Waqar Younis and physiotherapist Cliff Deacon will join the team from Australia and South Africa.The Pakistan cricket team will practice after a 14-day quarantine in Worcester, after which it will leave for Derbyshire on July 13 to play four-day matches at the Derbyshire County Cricket Ground.

Azhar Ali will lead the Test team during the tour of England and Babar Azam will captain the T20 team. Babar Azam:We are leaving for another historic visit to England. Before leaving, T20 captain Babar Azam said that it has always been a pleasure to play in England and now we are leaving for another historic tour of England. He said that he was looking forward to this journey with talented players and as always the prayers of the fans were needed.

Babar Azam further said that the love and unconditional support of the fans is also needed at this time.
