Lahore, 25th February: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to file an appeal against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) order regarding re-polling at all polling stations in NA-75 Daska constituency.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, PTI has decided to appeal the Election Commission of Pakistan’s order for new elections in the NA-75 Daska constituency.

Earlier today, Baaghi TV reported that the ECP had announced re-polling in the entire constituency on March 18 after concluding that the election in the constituency has not been conducted in a transparent manner.

Chief Minister Punjab’s aide on information Firdous Ashiq Awan said in a tweet that the party has certain reservations about the Election Commission’s decision regarding the Daska by-polls.

She said, “PTI candidate Ali Asjad Malhi will exercise his legal right and file the appeal against ECP’s decision.”

Awan further wrote, “We will approach the Supreme Court and appeal the decision. The people of Daska decided in PTI’s favour. It is incomprehensible that a victorious candidate is prevented from representing his constituency.”

It is to be noted that PML-N had requested the Election Commission to hold elections again in the Daska constituency as the February 19 election was ruined by controversies and clashes.

The ECP withheld the results after 20 presiding officers in the constituency went missing for several hours and were found involved in rigging.

ECP termed the polling null and void in the NA-75 Daska and ordered re-polling in the constituency on March 18.

As per reports, ECP has also announced to suspend the concerned Deputy Commissioner, District Police Officer (DPO), Assistant Commissioner and SPDO Daska over rigging during by-poll in NA-75.

As per details, the ECP has decided that the Commissioner and the Regional Police Officer will be dismissed from their posts and orders have been issued for an investigation against them.
