Govt to put a ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik

Lahore, 14th April: The government has decided to impose a ban on the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) under the anti-terrorism law.

According to Baaghi TV’s reports, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said on Wednesday that the federal government has decided to ban the religiopolitical party TLP.

While addressing a press conference, the interior minister said that the decision has been taken at the request of the Punjab government.

The minister added that the government’s decision comes after cases of abduction of policemen and destruction of public properties carried out by the workers of TLP.

Hence, the government has decided to put a ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik under Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, (11) B.
