Baaghi TV, 30th August 2020: The first match of the Pakistan vs England T20 series was cut short by rain before England could take the field. The second T20, played on the same strip at Old Trafford, began with Captain Babar Azam losing the toss and being sent in, a decision that mirrored his own at the rained out game.

Babar Azam opened the batting with Fakhar Zaman, who departed relatively early. Babar looked comfortable throughout his 56 runs, before offering up a catch. Spinner Adil Rashid got the wickets of both openers. Muhammad Hafeez arrived on one-down and led the attack as a continual annoyance to the fielding side with his strike rate.

Building over the foundation capably laid by his captain, Hafeez led the charge to help Pakistan set a new record of its highest T20 International Score against England. The England pace bowling did not help the team’s cause either as they seemed to continue offering Muhammad Hafeez the width to attack.

Pakistan has set England a considerable target of 196 runs for victory in this, the second game. Hafeez ended on 69 runs off 35 balls, losing his to Tom Curran wicket off the penultimate ball of the innings.

England has only chased a total this high in T20s twice; both times against South Africa.
