Haider Ali and Umaid Asif suspended ahead of PSL final match #Baaghi

Lahore, 24th June: In a major setback, Peshawar Zalmi’s Haider Ali and Umaid Asif have been suspended ahead of the PSL final match after they breached the bio-secure bubble.

According to details, Haider Ali and Umaid Asif from the Peshawar Zalmi team have been barred from Thursday’s Pakistan Super League 6 final match against Multan Sultans after they were caught violating the COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated in a statement on Thursday that the players failed to maintain a social distancing rule and they met people from outside their designated bio-secure bubble.

As per reports, the incident happened on Wednesday and the Tournament COVID-19 Management Panel comprising Barrister Salman Naseer (PCB, Chief Operating Officer) and Babar Hamid (Director – Commercial, and PSL 6 head) took the decision earlier today.

The statement by the Cricket board added, “The two cricketers did not interact with any other squad members at any time after the incident and have been placed in room isolation.”

Furthermore, Haider Ali has been excluded from the England and West Indies tours, respectively.

Sohaib Maqsood has been nominated as his replacement for the two tours during which the Pakistan men’s national cricket team will play three ODIs and eight T20Is, besides two Tests in Jamaica.
