Heads of State talk informally at the SCO Summit

ISLAMABAD: Informal talks between the heads of member states continued at the SCO Summit in Pakistan’s federal capital, Islamabad.

Regional issues and important challenges were also discussed in the informal discussion. Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang had a lively conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The conversation between the two leaders continued in a very pleasant atmosphere. On the other hand, delegates and guests appreciated the arrangements made by Pakistan for the SCO Summit.

Yesterday, the PM welcomed the guests upon arrival in Pakistan and hosted a dinner in the evening in their honour.

Later, Shahbaz Sharif was met by the leaders of Tajikistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Meeting, during which close cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, energy and regional ties was discussed. The need to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation was also emphasized.
