Heavy Rains, Lightning Take Several Lives in KPK

Heavy rains and lightning in Torgarh District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have destroyed two houses in a landslide and killed at least 14 people, 8 of which were women and girls.

According to local police, 14 people, 8 of which were females, were killed and another 2 women were injured in the accident. Lightning struck houses which caused the roofs to collapse. The incident occurred in the Jhatka Kunda village of Torgarh in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Details state that the bodies of the injured have been recovered from the wreckage while the injured have been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

Heavy rains in and around Neelum Valley have also caused floods in Nala Jagran. This has resulted in eight places have been closed for traffic due to landslides. Weather conditions in and around Malakand city have also caused flooding in the Swat river. 

The weather in some cities of the country has been quite rainy including Lahore. In a recent incident, 3 children were killed as a result of heavy rain causing a roof to collapse.
