President Biden has said that the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan would begin on May 1.
Foreign office spokesman said that according to the US President, the withdrawal of troops would be completed by September 11, 2021. Pakistan has been a staunch supporter of peace and stability efforts in Afghanistan.
The Foreign Office said there was no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan, adding that a political solution was important through a peace process in Afghanistan and that the US-Afghan Taliban agreement laid the groundwork for a permanent ceasefire in Afghanistan.
The spokesman said that the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan must be in line with the progress of the peace process, and therefore support the withdrawal of troops in coordination with Afghan stakeholders.
Peace and stability in Afghanistan is in the interest of the region, so we are committed to a peaceful, stable, independent and prosperous Afghanistan.
