House Fire Takes Lives of Five in Karachi

Five people, including a professor, were killed in a house fire in the Muhammad Ali Society area of ​​Karachi.

According to the police, the fire broke out in a house on the Mir Ahmad Shah Road near Bahadurabad. Five people died of suffocation.

The deceased were identified as Sultan Mirza, 82, Dr Farhat Mirza, 60, Sabiha Mirza, 78, Shaista Mirza, 72, and Akbar, 45.

According to Edhi services, a fire broke out in the house and the occupants fainted. They were rushed to Jinnah Hospital, but it was too late.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and contained the blaze, while police gathered evidence and launched an investigation.

Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho expressed grief over the death of Prof. Farhat Baig Mirza in the incident.

Professor Farhat Mirza was the former chairman of the Department of Forensic Medicine at Sindh Medical College, while the deceased included three other members of his family and a staff member.
