According to Baaghi TV, a meeting chaired by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood was held at the NCOC after the second wave of Corona virus intensified.

Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that all schools, colleges and universities will be closed. From December 25th to January 10th, all students will have a full winter break. December exams will be postponed. Hostels will also be closed. One-third of students can stay in hostels. On January 11th, before the opening of the educational institutions, the Corona epidemic situation will be reviewed.
Children will be educated online. Home-based education will continue till December 24th. From December 25th to January 10th, there will be winter holidays. All educational institutions will open on January 11th. Students will continue online educational activities, from home for a month. In March or April, the board recommends conducting examinations in May, the process of training in vocational institutions will continue.

Earlier, the Federal Ministry of Education sent three different proposals to the provinces regarding academic sessions, examinations and closure of educational institutions. The first proposal to close educational institutions was to close educational institutions from November 24 to January 31, or from November 24 to primary schools, from December 2 to middle schools and from December 15 to higher secondary schools. Similarly, the Federal Ministry of Education had proposed to extend the academic session to May 31 instead of March.
