Lahore, 5th June: According to the report of Baaghi TV, the dangerous coronavirus that spread from China has wreaked havoc all over the world.

Due to the closure of air operations because of the pandemic coronavirus, 92,000 Pakistanis are waiting for repatriation in different countries.

Foreign Office spokesperson Ayesha Farooqi said that the bodies of 424 Pakistanis who died due to other reasons including corona have been brought back. 20 from Saudi Arabia, 32 from UAE, 2 from Qatar and one from Kuwait has died from COVID-19.

The Foreign Office spokesman added that more than 51,500 Pakistanis have been repatriated from 65 countries. More than 54,000 Pakistanis from the UAE and more than 30,500 Pakistanis from Saudi Arabia have registered to return.

Special flights are being operated by the government to bring back Pakistanis from abroad, PIA is playing an important role in this regard.

COVID-19: Almost 5,000 cases come forward in a day

A comprehensive, coordinated plan has been drawn up for the repatriation of Pakistanis stranded abroad in the crisis of coronavirus, with the joint efforts of the Ministries of National Security, Foreign Affairs, Aviation and Overseas Pakistan. Efforts are being made to repatriate survivors, those with overdue or limited visas.

Thousands of Pakistanis from 38 countries, including the Gulf, the United Kingdom, Australia and Malaysia, arrived in their homeland despite lockdowns and travel restrictions.

Despite the cancellation of flights on March 21, 2,000 Pakistanis were initially repatriated in the first week, then gradually increasing to 6,000 to 7,000 every week. International airports are closed, flights are suspended, yet more Pakistani nationals are being brought in from other countries.

On the instructions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, special measures have been taken for the repatriation of Pakistanis stranded abroad. The Government of Pakistan, and in particular Prime Minister Imran Khan, is personally monitoring the situation.
