A big mistake has been revealed in the budget speech of the Federal Minister of Finance Shaukat Tareen. In the official papers, work has started on the ML-1 project. In practice, not a single brick has been laid.

CPEC planed to launch ML-1 in March 2020 at a cost of 9.3 billion dollars, as written, while ML-1 actually costs 6.8 billion dollars and has not been launched for three years. China has not approved the loan, which is why the tender has not been issued yet.

According to the details, this mistake has been revealed in the speech of the Federal Minister of Finance Shaukat Tareen. It should be declared as incompetence of the ministers and officials that the project has not started and they have stated that it in March 2020. Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen said that ML-1 is an important project costing  9.3 billion dollars to improve the North South railway infrastructure. It will be completed in three packages. Package 1 has been launched in March 2020 while Package 2 will be launched in July 2021. And Package 3 will be launched in July 2022.

Our government is keen to accelerate the work of this national project which will benefit millions of people and improve the transportation of goods and passengers. The budget speech published in the same way has been written in spite of the fact that the ML-1 project of the railways has been delayed for three years and no practical work has been started yet. The loan for the project has not been approved due to which no tender is being issued.
