According to Baaghi TV, Karachi police raided a private hotel and arrested Capt (retd) Safdar, husband of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, in a case of desecration of Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi.

PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz tweeted on social networking site, Twitter, that police had broken down the door of their room and detained her husband. She added that the police took Captain (R) Safdar in a car to the police station.

At the request of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, a case was registered against 200 League workers including Captain (retd) Safdar and Maryam Safdar at the Brigade Police Station. According to police, the case has been registered under sections 6, 8 and 10 of the Quaid-e-Azam Shrine Protection Act.
