India captain Suryakumar Yadav was fined 30 percent of his match fee on Friday for comments made during India’s Asia Cup clash against Pakistan on September 14. His remarks referred to cross-border hostilities between the two nations in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Suryakumar had dedicated India’s seven-wicket victory over Pakistan to the victims of the April attack and to the Indian armed forces.

The BCCI has lodged an appeal against the penalty imposed on the skipper.
