Ice, Heroin recovered from a Saudi passenger at Islamabad airport

Attempts to smuggle drugs to Saudi Arabia were foiled at Islamabad Airport when a passenger, carrying more than 6 kg of ice, heroin was apprehended by authorities.
According to reports, approximately 6 kg 330 grams of ice, heroin were recovered from a passenger going to Saudi Arabia during an Airports Security Force (ASF) operation. Mir Sajjad a resident of Malakand, was traveling to Dammam on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK9245. During the screening, ice and heroin were recovered from Sajjad’s bag.
The accused had skillfully hidden the drugs in his bag. The ASF officials handed over the suspects, along with the drugs, to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further legal action.

Prior to this, ASF personnel had recovered up to 50,000 UAE dirhams from the possession of a passenger traveling from Islamabad to Dubai. The accused was attempting to smuggle money out of the country illegally. According to reports, during a scan of the PIA passenger’s luggage, Ataullah, it was revealed that he was planning to embezzle the money via Islamabad airport to Dubai. However, ASF personnel foiled the money laundering attempts to export 50,000 UAE dirhams.
Earlier, the ANF had arrested three accused for supplying drugs, to students across educational institutions, in Islamabad. Two separate raids were conducted in the vicinity of the COMSATS University in Islamabad during which, a total of more than half a kilogram of hashish and 257 grams of ice were recovered from the three suspects.

In addition, half a kilogram of hashish was recovered from the possession of accused Matiullah, a resident of Islamabad. Meanwhile, 257 grams of ice was recovered from the possession of Shahram, a resident of Kotli, and Danish, a resident of Talagang.
