Important Decision on Lockdown During Ramadan Expected Today

Lahore, 24th April: Regarding the increasing number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan, an important Cabinet meeting is called today by Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss the lockdown during Ramadan.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, will be attended by Provincial Chief Ministers via video link. The National Co-ordination Committee meeting will review the situation caused by the coronavirus.

The meeting will be briefed on the data of the National Command and Control Center. The implementation of the decisions of the last meeting of the National Coordinating Committee will be reviewed. In the meeting, the lockdown restrictions and worshipping during Ramadan will be decided.

The President issued a 20-point declaration for the offering of Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan, to which the Sindh government objected and appealed to the people to perform Taraweeh prayers in their homes. Bilawal Zardari has also appealed to the people to do the same. Doctors have demanded that the government should reconsider their decision.

Important decisions are expected in today’s meeting of the National Coordinating Committee. The Sindh government wants the federal government to reconsider the decision because like this more people will be exposed to the coronavirus. There is a risk of further spread during the month of May.
