21st February, 2021: Saudi women between the ages of 21 and 40 will be able to join the armed forces, according to reports.

The Saudi government has allowed women to join the armed forces. According to Arab News, the order of the Saudi Ministry of Defense said that the government has opened the doors of the armed forces for both sexes and people of both sexes can register through the same entry portal.

Women in the Saudi Arabian Army, the Royal Saudi Air Defense, the Royal Saudi Navy, the Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Force and the Armed Forces Medical Services will be recruited from Soldier to Sergeant.

All applicants for recruitment in the Armed Forces must go through the admission procedure as per the prescribed conditions. However, there are some additional conditions for female applicants.

According to the report, Saudi women between the ages of 21 and 40 will be able to join the armed forces. Education up to high school has been made compulsory for them, while women marrying non-Saudi nationals will not be able to join the armed forces.

There was a mixed reaction from different sections of Saudi Arabia concernign the recruitment of men and women in the armed forces in the same way.
