In a heartfelt message, Big B asks for global help for crisis in India

Lahore, 10th May: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has urged the world to help India battle the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

According to Baaghi TV‘s reports, Bollywood ShehanShah appealed to the world for donations during his appearance on a ‘Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World’, whose pre-recorded show went live on Saturday.

Big B joined big names like the American singers Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez, Pope Francis, and US President Joe Biden among others in Global Citizen’s VAX LIVE.

The show was hosted by Selena Gomez and marked by unforgettable performances by Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, Chrissy Teigen, David Letterman and Jimmy Kemmel.

Legendary Amitabh Bachchan participated from India and emphasized the importance of the COVID vaccine in his video message.

In his heartfelt message, Bachchan said, “Namaskar, this is Amitabh Bachchan. My country India is battling with the sudden surge of the second wave of COVID-19.”

He added, “As a global citizen, I appeal to all global citizens to rise up, speak to your governments, pharmaceutical companies and ask them to donate, to give, to extend a helping hand, to the public that needs it the most.”

Sr Bachchan reiterated his message by quoting Mahatama Gandhi’s words that read, ‘In a gentle way you can shake the world’.

Amitabh Bachchan thanked his viewers in the end.

Big B’s message was meant to call on businesses to donate for vaccine doses, G7 governments to share excess doses immediately, and for pharma companies including Moderna to make vaccines available at not-for-profit prices to India.

Bachchan through his message also aimed to inspire people around the world to take coronavirus vaccines.

According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan has already donated around INR 20 million to a COVID facility in Delhi.

The news was confirmed by Mjaindra Singh Sirsa, the President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management committee on Twitter.

He often said;

VAX LIVE was recorded before an audience of vaccinated frontline healthcare & essential workers at SoFi Stadium and was aired on May 8 (Sunday, May 9 for India and Pakistan).

UK’s Prince Harry And Meghan were announced as Campaign Chairs Of Global Citizen’s Vax Live.

In order to increase public awareness for the COVID-19 vaccine, US President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris made an appearance too.
