Crime is on the rise in karachi

Over the first six months of 2021, the crime rate in Karachi has grown dramatically. From January through June 15, more than 22,000 events were reported.

Criminals appear to be walking free in Shahrah-e-Quaideen, with the police unable to stop them.

According to Geo News, 22,295 crimes were registered in the last six months, with citizens being robbed of Rs2.97 billion.

Theft and motorbike snatching were the most common events, with a total cost of approximately Rs1.30 billion for the stolen motorcycles.

More than Rs960 million was stolen in 2,278 robberies, while robbers snatched Rs160 million from houses in 243 cases. In addition, 185 incidences of shoplifting resulted in a loss of about Rs100 million.

Highway crimes yielded more than Rs3.5 million, while two bank robberies yielded Rs6 million. A total of Rs900,000 was stolen from eight petrol pumps.

Officials claim that these figures are based on reported occurrences, and that the true quantity of money and property stolen from citizens could be substantially higher.
