Oct 21, 2021: Officials said the Indian Air Force’s Mirage 2000 fighter jet crashed this morning near Bhand district in Madhya Pradesh.

After the latest IAF trainer crash, a team of policemen formed a cordon around the crash site, where the smouldering tail section of the fighter jet was seen half buried in the field.

The Indian Air Force tweeted that the pilot got out safely. Videos show debris scattered on an empty field in Manakabad, some 6 km from Bhand.

A team of police has cordoned off the area, where the smoky part of the trainer jet was found half buried in a field. The IAF Mirage 2000 aircraft experienced a technical glitch during training in the central sector this morning.

The pilot got out safely. An inquiry has been ordered into the cause of the accident.

The Indian air force also confirmed that the pilot of the Mirage 2000, Abhilash, was injured in the crash.

The accident happened when the single-engine jet took off from Maharajpura Air Base in Gwalior for a training flight. Meanwhile, Indian forces launched an investigation to find out the real cause of the incident.

A mobile video taken by a person on the ground shows the pilot’s parachute smoothly gliding down.

In August, an Indian Air Force MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in a fourth similar incident this year in Rajasthan’s Barmer district. An IAF interceptor jet crashed during routine training. The pilot suffered minor injuries and was rushed to a local medical facility by villagers.
