Senior Indian Army commanders have reviewed the operational preparedness of troops deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, as New Delhi continues to reinforce its military presence in the territory.

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, visited various forward areas in Rajouri and Poonch, accompanied by General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps, Lt Gen PK Mishra.

The visit, which comes amid heightened cordon and search operations across the occupied territory, is part of India’s ongoing efforts to consolidate its illegal military control over the disputed territory.

During his tour, Lt Gen Sharma interacted with troops deployed along the LoC.

Local analysts note that while India frequently highlights “operational preparedness,” it continues to ignore the legitimate political aspirations of the Kashmiri people, who have long been demanding their UN-recognized right to self-determination.
