In Batamal area of Srinagar, the capital of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army killed three youths and a local woman, while a Deputy Commandant CRPF and ten personnel were injured.
Police and CRPF conducted a joint operation. The martyred woman Kausar Riaz was injured during the clash and succumbed to her injuries.
The injured commandant has been admitted to 92 Base Hospital. Where they are being treated. According to reports, the forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation after receiving a verified report of the presence of freedom fighters in the Batamal area.
According to South Asian Wire, 531 people have been arrested in 246 different incidents since 2000 in Srinagar district of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir before today’s incident while 438 freedom fighters and 399 civilians were martyred in 729 different incidents during the same period.
Meanwhile, 390 security personnel were also killed in the district. According to South Asian Wire, before today’s incident, 195 Kashmiris were martyred in 98 incidents in 2020 this year, while 45 police and army personnel were killed.
During the ongoing independence movement in occupied Kashmir, 25,174 freedom fighters, 15,142 civilians and 418 unidentified persons have been martyred in various operations and violence by the Indian Army since 1988. Meanwhile, 6,989 Indian soldiers have also been killed.
