July 28, 2021: Islamabad has termed the Indian media report stating Pakistan has lost its General Scheme of Priorities Plus, GSP+ status as “malicious propaganda” against Pakistan.
Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said in a statement on Tuesday that “speculation that an Indian news agency has resigned as Pakistan’s GSP + has been fabricated and that Pakistan Continuation of India media malicious propaganda against India. “

The report claimed that the European Parliament had revoked Pakistan’s GSP + status for misusing blasphemy laws. The spokesperson further said that India’s malicious campaign against Pakistan is well known and independent organizations including the European Union (EU) have established Indian media’s credentials as the creator of anti-Pakistan propaganda globally.
“Even after exposing India’s incompetence campaign globally, the Indian state and the binding Indian media are busy telling baseless stories against Pakistan. Recent rumors have been another manifestation of India’s nefarious designs.”
The FO spokesman said that Pakistan and the European Union (EU) have maintained close high-level relations through a number of dialogue mechanisms, and have fully implemented the 27 international conventions on Islamabad GSP Plus and so the campaign by Indian media is based on falsehood.
Rubbishing the efforts of Indian media to discredit Pakistan, the spokesman said, “Pakistan has successfully completed the three-year review of GSP Plus and the fourth two-year review is underway,” Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry.
Refuting the claims made by Indian media, Chaudhry said, “Currently, the EU Parliament is on summer vacation until the fall and there has been no discussion on Pakistan since April 2021,” the FO statement said.
In early June, the European Union also commended Pakistan’s efforts to fully implement the 27 international conventions set out under the continental bloc’s unilateral trade preferences scheme – GSP +.
