Lahore, 17th June: Reportedly some Indians villagers have started praying to ‘Goddess Corona’ to rid them of the coronavirus.
According to reports, Indian villagers in one of the states of Uttar Pradesh have set up a shrine where they pray to goddess corona in the hope to get rid of the deadly virus.
As per reports from the Indian media, people in Shuklapur village in the northern state of Utter Pradesh, have been praying, offering holy water and flowers at the bright yellow shrine where they placed an idol of ‘Corona Mata’.
A social media user shared a picture of the temple on his Twitter handle last week.

The idol of their goddess was erected earlier this week.
Villagers believe that maybe with the goddess’s blessings, their village and everyone else might get relief from the pandemic.

“The temple was built by a group of villagers after collecting donations from the locals. The villagers have started offering prayers to Corona Mata wishing that the shadow of COVID-19 should never fall on Shuklapur and adjoining villages,” the Twitter post stated.
India has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic in April and May. Officials reported 84,332 new cases on Saturday, the lowest daily toll in more than two months.
According to government data, 367,081 people have been killed by COVID-19 in India so far.
