Inflation will be controlled in the coming days: Fawad Chaudhry

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has said that after petroleum products, prices of other commodities will also be controlled.
Taking to Twitter, the Federal Minister for Information wrote that in the coming days, inflation will start coming down. He added that a decrease in the price of commodities other than petroleum products will be ensured.

Fawad Chaudhry added, “Projects like health card and ration discount will give more relief”. The Federal Minister said that the real achievement would be that we would be able to get rid of the debts incurred for Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari.

Responding to the Federal Minister’s tweet, social media users have expressed hope that the current inflation in Pakistan will be controlled. It is pertinent to note that while the oil prices have fallen to 18% globally, the Pakistan government has reduced prices by 3.5% only.
On the other hand, the State Bank of Pakistan has announced a new monetary policy to control inflation and has raised interest rates by one percentage point. While interest rates have reached a 20-month high.
