The third wave has reportedly intensified in Lahore which has led to the possibility of further sanctions.
According to reports, the number of cases across Lahore has risen exponentially in the last week. Latest figures show 6,129 tests done in the last 24-hours of which 1,206 were positive. The positivity rate has risen to 19.6% on Sunday. Meanwhile, of the 15 patients admitted across Punjab, 9 are in the ICU.
The infection rate in Rawalpindi is 17%, further tightening of lockdown in being considered. Meanwhile, there is no shortage of vaccines. According to reports, the timings for inoculation centers will be between 10 am to 4 pm during the day and 9 pm to 1 am at night.
On the other hand, an important meeting of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) chaired by Federal Minister Asad Umar will be held today. The meeting will focus on important decisions regarding sanctions and SOPs during Ramadan. The meeting will consider issues related to the implementation of sanctions.
