According to Baaghi TV, CAA has announced the resumption of international flights.
The notification says that all chartered flights to and from the country will be allowed to operate via international airports in Pakistan. CAA will announce the timings during which flight operations will be allowed. The suspension at Gwadar and Turbat will continue.
Flight timings will be based on CAA issued SOPs. The arrival and departure of special flights will continue as before via special permission. Two-way flight operations will be allowed at all international airports except Gwadar and Turbat.
It should be mentioned that Pakistan had suspended international flight operations in March due to the corona pandemic. Because of this, the CAA suffered a heavy loss of Rs 3,61,00,00,000 in the first month of the lockdown.
Previously the corona screening method at the airports was changed. The Department of Health, Punjab, has received the new method for screening at airports, under which asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to go home from the airport.
It was decided in the NCOC (National Command and Operation Centre) meeting that under the reviewed rules that passengers who show symptoms will not be allowed to go back home. Department of Health teams present at the airport will conduct the screening of the passengers. Asymptomatic passengers will be quarantined at their homes for 14 days, whereas, passengers with symptoms will remain in the government quarantine centres till the results of their test come out.
According to the rules, passengers whose tests come out negative will be allowed to go home immediately. The passengers whose tests come out positive will self-isolate at home or in hospital. Passengers from other provinces will be able to return home after 14 days of isolation.
The new guidelines say that all the airlines that have regular operations in Pakistan, will be allowed to resume domestic flights from 20th June. This amounts to a total of 200 to 275 flights in a week.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari has said that airspace had to be opened because overseas Pakistanis are facing difficulties. There is a problem with flights in Italy due to the lockdown to control the corona pandemic. 85,000 people have returned and 1 lac, 6 thousand are still trapped outside. Quite a few flights will be resumed this week.
