IOK: Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti gets released

Kashmir, 14th October: Former Chief Minister of Indian-occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has been released.

Baaghi TV: Indian authorities have released former Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who has been imprisoned for a year.

Former Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has been released after 13 months in jail, according to Kashmir Media Service.

The Modi government had on August 5 last year revoked the special status of Occupied Kashmir, arrested Kashmiri leaders and imprisoned them in jails and houses, including Mehbooba Mufti, but she and her party, the People’s Democratic Party is declared Indian-backed by the Kashmiri people and the media.

Confirming the release of his mother on Mehbooba Mufti’s Twitter account, Al-Taja Mufti, her son wrote, “The illegal arrest of Mehbooba Mufti has finally ended. Thanks to all those who supported us.”

It has been five months since the curfew and lockdown in the occupied valley but the Indian aggression has not abated. Schools, markets, offices, shopping malls have also been closed for five months while mobile and internet service has also been suspended in the valley.

It should be noted that one year has passed since the illegal Indian initiative in occupied Kashmir. The Kashmir Media Service says that Indian forces martyred more than 214 Kashmiri people in one year, including 4 women and children.
