Iqbal Park: 66 accused involved in harassment of women arrested

Lahore police has arrested 66 accused involved in harassment of women in Iqbal Park.

More than 300 people were questioned by Lahore Investigation Police in Iqbal Park incident and more than 100 of them were taken into custody for preliminary investigation.

Geo-fencing and face-matching of the detainees was carried out and the presence of the accused was determined through digital mobile forensics and 66 persons were arrested.

Over 40 arrested accused were produced before the court and sent for identification parade.

The woman and her other accomplices will identify the suspects and further investigation will be carried out once the identification parade is completed.

DIG Sharq Jamal Khan has said that Lahore Investigation Police is investigating using all its resources and other accused involved in the case will also be arrested soon.
He said that inshallah the culprits involved in this heinous act would be punished.
