Iqra Aziz expresses best wishes for Pakistan’s first trans police officer

Iqra Aziz Hussain, wife of renowned comedian and actor Yasir Hussain, a well-known actress herself, is usually in the news for her controversial statements, however, she has recently expressed best wishes for Reem Sharif, who works as a police officer at the Women’s Police Station in Rawalpindi. 

Baaghi TV: The actress of drama serial Jhooti wrote on social networking site Twitter that she met with Pakistan’s first transgender police officer who has been recruited as an officer in Rawalpindi police to protect the rights of the transgender community across Pakistan.

Iqra Aziz Hussain wrote, many good wishes for brave Reem, who is playing an important role in leading the society towards betterment.

It should be noted that for the first time in the history of the country, a transgender person has been posted in the police department with the aim of solving the problems of their community and ensuring justice for them.

According to Rawalpindi police officials, Reem Sharif has been recruited after fulfilling all the legal requirements. In the first two months as a trans victim relief officer, Reem Sharif has helped approximately 16 trans people in Rawalpindi.

Reem Sharif, is active in speaking up for the rights of the trans community.
