Islamabad court deems Cricketer Yasir Shah innocent

Islamabad: Pakistani Cricketer Yashir Shah has reportedly been declared innocent and his name cleared in relation to allegations of sexual abuse of a minor girl.  

According to reports, Test cricketer Yasir Shah was accused of raping a fourteen-year-old girl, after which the cricketer’s name was registered at the Islamabad Shalimar police station. However, the victim said that the cricketer’s name was added to the First Information Report (FIR) due to a misstatement.

According to the SHO, of Shalimar police station, the cricketer had no connection with the assault case. 

According to earlier reports, a case was registered against Shah in December of last year, for alleged involvement in aiding ‘rape and harassment’. In addition, the complainant had alleged that Shah’s friend Farhanuddin had abused her at gunpoint and filmed an obsene video, according to reports of The Current.

Following the verdict of the Islamabad court, Yasir Shah took to the social networking website Twitter to share the news of his name being dismissed from the case.
