May 8, 2021: According to the report of Baaghi TV, on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Saudi Arabia, the details of the meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman were announced.

According to the statement, the Prime Minister met Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman in Jeddah and discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues. The Prime Minister and the Saudi Crown Prince agreed to further enhance bilateral relations in all fields. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to visit the holy places during the special days, pledged to expand bilateral historical ties, common values, mutual trust. The Prime Minister assured support for Saudi Arabia’s continued sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Prime Minister expressed special devotion to the Holy Land on behalf of the people of Pakistan.

According to the statement, increasing Saudi investment in Pakistan and cooperation in the energy sector were discussed with special emphasis on increasing employment opportunities for Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Imran Khan said. Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked the Saudi leadership for the steps taken for the welfare of Pakistanis in Corona. Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed the importance of a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue. The Prime Minister also highlighted Pakistan’s sustained efforts for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.

The Prime Minister and the Crown Prince also signed an agreement on the establishment of the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council, which will provide a strategic direction to the development of Pak-Saudi relations. He hoped that the council would enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will play a key role in a number of agreements, memoranda of understanding were signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, MoUs were signed on investment in energy, hydro-power projects, while investment in infrastructure, transport, and water resources projects.

Memorandums of Understanding between the two countries on cooperation in crime prevention and the transfer of convicted prisoners are also included.
