Jacob Blake protest: 3 shot dead on the third night
26th August: Three people were shot, and one fatally injured in an incident during Jacob Blake protests.
According to reports from the US media, three people have been shot and one fatally injured, as gunfire broke out during protests over the police shooting of a black man in Wisconsin.
Protestors Clash with Police over Black Man’s Shooting
New York Times reported citing a police chief after Jacob Blake was shot several times in Kenosha on Sunday while trying to break up a fight between two women.
Reuters reported that the protesters and authorities clashed for the third night of civil unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, over the police shooting of Jacob Blake on their Twitter page:

Riot police fired rubber bullets and tear gas to push back demonstrators on Tuesday night who defied a dawn-to-dusk curfew and gathered outside a court building and adjacent park at the center of the city.

The atmosphere became tense as some of those gathered started to argue and shove each other. Police arrived in armored trucks and urged the crowd to go home before shots were fired after midnight.
Three people were hit by the gunfire and one died, the paper reported, quoting Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth.

Footage shared online showed a man with a rifle being chased by a crowd before he fell to the ground and appeared to fire multiple rounds at them. Other video shows armed civilians, many dressed in military fatigues, congregating outside businesses they said they were protecting.
Jacob Blake, 29, was shot and injured by police as he leaned into his car on Sunday, with his children screaming.
A video was captured where Blake was seen engaged in a struggle with at least two Kenosha police officers on the right side of his gray SUV on Sunday, TMZ reported.

Within hours of Mr. Blake’s shooting on Sunday, hundreds of people had marched on Kenosha’s police headquarters.

Cars were later set alight, and police urged 24-hour businesses to consider closing because of “numerous” calls about armed robberies and shots being fired. A night-time curfew was imposed.
Mr. Blake had been paralyzed by the shooting and is in hospital. His lawyers say it will take “a miracle” for him to walk again. The bullets severed his spinal cord and shattered some of his vertebrae, it is going to take a miracle for Jacob Blake Jr to ever walk again.
Jacob Blake’s shooting comes at a time when the US is already suffering from questions about racism in society since the death of George Floyd another African-American citizen.
