Lahore (10th July, 2019): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) expresses concern over situation in Karachi, and problems faced by the people of the port city.
According to Baaghi TV’s reports, Jamaat-e-Islami, expresses grave concern over the situation in Karachi and the mirage of problems being faced by the citizens. A plan is being brought into action by the central Shoora of the Jamaat-e-Islami for speeding up the work on water supply projects and the development of the mega city under supervision of a committee, in the port city. Sources confirm that the JI has called for a check on over-billing by the K Electric.

The JI has demanded a probe into corruption of local government functioning under the Sindh administration such as civil bodies and the Karachi Municipal Corporation. According to sources, it has demanded one thousand buses to help eradicate the transport issues in the city as well as the restoration of the circular railway. The JI has also stated that special efforts should be made to solve he problems being faced by the city’s traders including harassment faced by tax machinery.
The JI has further welcomed a peace dialogue with Afghanistan expressing hope that the neighboring countries will end bloodshed in the states. Appreciating Pakistan governments initiative of holding a conference of 18 representative bodies from Afghanistan, the JI expressed hope that the Tehrik-e-Taliban and other Afghani political bodies would attend so as to better facilitate the initiative of restoration of peace in the war torn country. Moreover, JI showed hope that the peace dialogue could lead to development of public sector and economic stability in the two states.
