Jamaat-e-Islami Pushes for Enforcement of Labour Laws

Lahore (10th July, 2019): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) condemns injustice against workers, demands enforcement of labour laws.

According to Baaghi TV’s sources, the central Shoora of Jamaat-e-Islami has condemned the injustice against workers and demanded that labour laws be strictly implemented to counter the injustice.

The JI has demanded that the government should fix minimum wages at Rs. 30,000 with hundred percent increase in EOBI pensions. It further discussed the need to registration of workers compulsory, for the EOBI sector and other Social Security facilities.

Moreover, the Jamaat-e-Islami demanded a check on dismissal of workers as well as regular factory inspections by the Labour inspectors. The JI also demanded the completion of the N.I.R.C with immediate effect, and to bring labour laws of the center as well as  the provinces in harmony.

The JI also pushed for the withdrawal of taxes from daily wage earners.
