Jamaat-ud-Dawah leaders sentenced by Court

Lahore, 5th  November: The anti-terrorism court has sentenced three leaders of Jamaat-ud-Dawah in two more cases.

Prof. Zafar Iqbal and Mohammad Ashraf have been sentenced to five years each while Prof. Hafiz Abdul Rehman Miki has been sentenced to one year.

No. 89/19 and 90/19 hearings were held in which the statements of witnesses were recorded and the cases were decided after cross-examination.

Several more cases against Jamaat-ud-Dawah leaders are pending in anti-terrorism courts in which witness statements are being recorded while Naseeruddin Nayyar and Muhammad Imran Fazal Gul are cross-examining.

It is to be noted that Hafiz Abdul Salam bin Muhammad, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Maki, Zafar Iqbal, Yahya Mujahid, Luqman Shah and Hafiz Masood-ur-Rehman have been sentenced in a different case.
