Karachi building collapses, leaving three injured
Karachi (7th June, 2020): A building in Karachi collapsed, leaving 1 dead and 3 injured, confirm reports.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, one person has been killed while three others have been injured following the collapse of a residential building in Liaqat Colony, in Karachi’s Lyari area. The building reportedly collapsed on Sunday night.

The body and the injured have been transported to the Civil Hospital as confirmed by Edhi officials, while the rescue operation continued to find persons buried under the rubble.

According to reports, the residents had been given notices pertaining to the state of the building due to which many apartments had been vacated at the time of the accident. Reportedly, prior to the collapse, another crack had appeared in the building due to which several people had evacuated their apartments.

Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, has taken notice of the incident and ordered the Karachi Commissioner to begin rescue operations, as confirmed is a statement by his spokesperson. He has further ordered the relevant body to submit an inquiry report of the incident.

It is to be noted that, twenty-seven people were killed when a building collapsed in Karachi’s Gulbahar area prior to the Lyari collapse incident. At the time it was reported that the building had fallen on adjacent structures which caused caused further damage.
