Karachi should be given ‘Export City’ status: JI

Karachi, Oct. 19 (Online):  Karachi should be given ‘Export City’ status and in this direction government should also ensure regular supply of utilities and revamp infrastructure of all industrial zones in city, Karachi ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said.

On his visit to Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry and North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry, he exchanged views with representatives of these bodies. Acting President FB Area Association, senior vice President, Imran Haroon, former presidents, Idrees Gaggi, Javeed Ghouri, Masroor Alvi, Rehan Zeshan and Muhammad Baber Khan and North Karachi Association President, Faisal Moiz Khan, senior vice President, Akhtar Ismail, vice President, Naeem Haider and chief Disaster Management Cell, Farooq Khatoor welcomed Hafiz Naeem on his visit to these sites.

They admired JI Karachi referendum campaign and also expressed their confidence in JI leadership. JI is the party having capability to solve issues in Karachi, they said.During his meetings with representatives of both trade bodies, Hafiz Naeem reiterated JI stance on Karachi Electric that after taking its control forensic audit should be initiated, start afresh population census in Karachi, setting up an empowered city government, cancellation of quota system on government jobs, health and education facilities and refurbishment of city infrastructure be given priority.

Former Town Nazim Gulberg, Farooq Naimatuulah said former JI city nazim Naimatullah Khan gave development package to city including development of industrial areas infrastructure while government deposed Abdus Sattar Afghani from his mayor-ship on demanding transfer control of vehicle tax to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, he informed. Deputy Secretary Karachi, Abdul Rehman Fida and Secretary Information, Zahid Askari was also present on the occasion.
