Karishma Kapoor breaks silence on her abusive marriage

Lahore, 22nd June: Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor is one of the leading actresses of the ’90s, but her marriage to businessman Sanjay Kapoor lasted only 13 years.

At the height of her career, Karisma decided to marry Sanjay Kapoor an Indian businessman, but soon got divorced from him. The revelations that Karisma Kapoor made after her separation were shocking.

Sanjay Kapoor was previously married but after his separation from his first wife, he married Karisma on September 20, 2003. They started living together but got divorced in 2016.

Karisma accused her ex-husband of bidding in front of friends during the honeymoon. In an interview, Karisma said that Sanjay started abusing her shortly after marriage.

When I was on honeymoon with my husband, Sanjay pressured me to sleep one night with his friends. But I refused and Sanjay tortured me.

Kareena Kapoor used to say that even Sanjay used to make my bid in front of his friends. According to Kareena, Sanjay used to hit me a lot and I often used to hide all these wounds with my make-up.

“When things got out of hand and I had no choice, I complained to the police,” she said.

Karisma added that not only Sanjay but also my mother-in-law used to oppress me.

After her divorce from Sanjay Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor is raising her children alone, however, both have put aside their grievances and try to normalize the relationship so that their children could get attention.

Meanwhile, according to Indian media, on his daughter’s marriage, father Randhir Kapoor had said that he never wanted Karisma and Sanjay to get married. In an interview to Hindustan Times, Randhir Kapoor said that everyone knows about our family, we are Kapoors, we don’t have to run after anyone’s money.

He had said that Sanjay is a bad man, I never wanted Karisma to marry him. He never cared for his wife. He was abusing his wife and living with another woman.
