Kashmiri Youth Martyred in Encounter in Tral Area

According to Baaghi TV, three Kashmiri youths were martyred on Friday morning in a long-running clash between security forces and freedom fighters during an operation in Chiwa Olar village of Tral area of ​​southern district Pulwama in occupied Kashmir. The clash started from Thursday evening. One policeman was injured.

Two to three freedom fighters were reported to be hiding in the area, according to South Asian Wire. The echoes of bullets and explosions throughout the night created an atmosphere of fear and panic in the area. On Thursday evening, after receiving a verified report of the freedom fighters’ hideout, the 42 RR, 180 Battalion CRPF and Special Operations Group of the police cordoned off Chiwa Olar Mandura Tral, 5 km from the Tral headquarters, during which an armed clash broke out.

Police told South Asian Wire that they had received information about the presence of at least three freedom fighters in the villages and launched a joint operation against them. At around 6 pm, the villages were besieged with a few fires, after which there was complete silence. The armed clash started after 7 pm and continued till around 11 pm. People in the settlement have been gathered in one place, police said. One policeman and one army officer were injured in the clash, but sources said both were injured by stones. Authorities suspended mobile internet service as the clash began.

Two Kashmiri youths, 21-year-old Waleed Bashir and son-in-law Bashir Ahmed Mir, resident of Bahrampura, Rafiabad, and 34-year-old Bilal Ahmed Pare resident Amber Zalwari Sopore were martyred in a clash between security forces and freedom fighters during an operation on Thursday morning in Hard Shiwa village of Sopore town in Baramulla district of North Kashmir in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

On March 5, 2020, five youths went missing from Sopore and Patan areas. The first of them, 25-year-old Mudassar Ahmed Butt, a resident of Shutlu Rafiabad, was martyred seven days later. Fayyaz Ahmed War, 26, a resident of Warapura Sopore and Inayatullah Mir, 26, of Wasan Pattan were also martyred in the group.

According to South Asian Wire, 377 people have been arrested in 200 different incidents in Pulwama district since 2000. In 1,011 incidents, 924 freedom fighters, 440 civilians and 58 unidentified persons were martyred. In the same period, 316 security forces personnel were also killed in the district.

In Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, 142 Kashmiris were martyred in 2020, including 22 in January, 12 in February, 13 in March, 33 in April, 33 in May, 16 in May and 46 in June, while 30 security personnel were killed. According to him, 60 incidents of arms export were recorded this year.
